Hi,
I hope you guys can help me with the API in Ruby on Rails, i'm using chargify_api_ares gem.

  1. how can I query the transactions of a subscription using the official gem?

2.using API, how can I get noticed when the billing fails so I can internally downgrade the user's plan? is there a callback or someting I can setup for this?

Thanks.

    Hi Johan,

I know we have merchants using Ruby (and one of the two Ruby gems) to do both of the things that you want to do.

However, it is possible that some functions are not supported in the gem, yet, and you may have to use the API directly.

Re #2, there are also post-backs that are sent to you for events like that.

    Thanks.

    Hi again,

There are at least 2 guys on Twitter who are Ruby users and they occasionally help Chargify users. They are not paid by Chargify and they just do this out of the kindness of their hearts when they have time.

I don't want to impose on them, but you migth say 'hi' to @douglasr or @pengwynn if you're on Twitter. @douglasr helped someone else with a Ruby gem question today.

I just changed this ticket to "public" so wonderful, helpful people like him can see if it they choose to chime in.

    Thanks.

    Hi.

I switched to pengwynn's gem, it's working, but I can't find any post-backs configurations on the products. Can you give me the url to configure those settings?

    Thanks.

Shoot, I wish I knew the answer. All I know is that there are settings somewhere in your account but I'm not sure if the postback settings are at the Site/Account level of product level. I know I've seen tickets where people ask about them and our guys tell them to configure postbacks in the Chargify admin interface.

I'll mark this for one of our developers to help out.

    Michael,

Post back settings can be set in the settings of a site.
