Knowledge Base: Creating Product Families and Products

Setting up your products in Chargify is a 2 step process.

First, you need to set up one or more product families. A product family is a grouping of different products or "plans" you application might offer. An example you might be familiar with may be 37Signals. If they were to use Chargify, they might set up product families for "Basecamp" and "Highrise".

Once you have created a product family, you will want to create the different products that make up each family.

A product is a set of rules about how much something costs and how often your customer is billed for it. For Chargify, the 2nd "product" costs $50 and is billed monthly.

Once you create your products and families, you're now ready to start billing your customers!
